Not an angel. Allah says, “Say: "I tell you not that with me are the
treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an
angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be
held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not?” [Al-An’am 6:50]
Not know what is hidden. Allah
says, “"I tell you not that with me
are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an
angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not
grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I
should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer."” [Hud 11:31]
A
man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me. Allah says, “Say: "I am but a man like yourselves,
(but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah: whoever
expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, &, in the worship of
his Lord, admit no one as partner.”
[Al-Kahfi 18:110]
Unlettered a messenger. Allah
says, “It is He Who has sent amongst the
Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to
sanctify them, & to instruct them in Scripture & Wisdom,- although they
had been, before, in manifest error;-” [Al-Jumuah
62:2]
They find mentioned in their own
(scriptures),- in the law & the Gospel. Allah says, “"Those who follow the
messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own
(scriptures),- in the law & the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just &
forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (& pure) &
prohibits them from what is bad (& impure); He releases them from their
heavy burdens & from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe
in him, honour him, help him, & follow the light which is sent down with
him,- it is they who will prosper."”
[Al-A’raf 7:157-158]
